The main positive comment that I can make about this hotel is that it is conveniently located near to Paddington Station and was easy to find. The room was also clean and I had sufficient towels. The room was also quiet. On the negative side, however, the staff were not very friendly and the room was tiny, especially the shower-room. The most annoying part of my stay was breakfast. The hotel seemed to be having building work going on in the reception area so guests were given a token to use at either McDonalds or the restaurant near by. It was assumed I knew the breakfast procedure, and the staff did not bother to explain it until I asked. I chose to go to the restaurant near by as it was closer and it was raining heavily outside. The meal we were given was dreadful - 1 cup of tea/coffee, 1 slice of toast and 1 English Muffin and some jam. No fruit juice and no cereal options. One guest complained about the lack of food, and was told that was all they were entitled to. This hotel was a disappointment and not value for money.

I needed a hotel close to Paddington station where I could crash for a few hours before my train. This place was great. Terrific location, breakfast provided at a nearby joint (basic breakfast), close to everything and simple, but clean room. The only downside for me was the ventilation in the room. It seemed a bit musty. Overall the right place for the value. One additional warning: the rooms are tiny, but organized in a very Ikea type way so it didn't feel horrible.

The room was clean and comfortable with a Danish style interior. London rooms are small, so that was expected. Just 2 blocks from Paddington Station and a quick walk to Kensington garden-very handy. The staff went out of their way to assist us several times. We even had a coffe maker and a flatscreen tv in the room! Had a great stay.

Generally clean. The room was barely large enough for a single bed, let alone the double pushed against one wall. Nowhere to put 2 cases. Space at foot of the bed 50cm. At side 40cm. Sit on the toilet to brush your teeth. To pass one another in the room, one person has to stand in the ensuite. You get the picture. Price advertisied as B&B. Breakfast by voucher at a very nice restaurant nearby allowed for 1 slice of toast, 1 half warm crumpet and cup of tea.

Very adequate hotel for price and location. Very quiet for central London. Only real minus was size of room - especially bathroom area. But at that price we would certainly stay there again.

Arrived earlier than check in and was given a room straight away, which was a great bonus! Rooms are quite small but all you need is there! Very clean modern rooms with dressing table and hairdryer! Tea and coffee along with kettle provided within the rooms, bathroom is small but has everything you need with very new refurbisments and towels provided. The only thing I would fault about the room is that the shower is not overly warm. We were there for the weekend and each morning our beds were made and fresh towels were provided! We thought the rooms were perfect for the weekend they were so clean and tidy. There was construction work going on next door to the hotle but we were never disturbed by it! We were at the back of the hotel and heard no noise during the night. After checking out we were able to leave our suitcase at the hotel till we were heading to the airport. It is ONLY 5 minutes max walk away from the underground and has many restaurants, take aways, pubs, shops and newsagents near by. We loved staying in this hotel and would definately go back for a weekend break as it is a good price for a nice pleasant stay.

Rooms are very SMALL but so nice, so clean, so quiet and so beautiful with all comfort that finally you forget the size. The location is very close to Paddington station and so the subway and taxi station are very close as well as cyber coffee and Steak House.

Our stay at the Hotel Boulevard was made unpleasant because we could not get any assistance from the staff or front desk regarding two simple matters - heat and towels. We asked four times over our two day stay, and each time we were told the towels were coming, and then we were told we just couldn't have any, and the woman at the desk wasn't sure what the problem was. A small matter really, but we really wanted to shower after our long flight. Our room had no heat, until we badgered the front desk several times and then they turned it on. The staff with one exception, was aloof and made no effort to assist us. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone, which is a shame because it could have been a pleasant stay if the staff have been more responsive. The rooms are small but clean and bright, and the hotel is very close to the tube. But if you need anything, like heat in January or towels, you may be on your own.

Rooms are very small, they remind on ship cabins, but everything is there and it works. Most of the former reviewers said the rooms are very clean - unfortanetely this is not the case. Lots of old dust under the bed. Many similar hotels nearby (but not on Venere) offer cheaper accomodation.

Imagine this: When opening the door to the hotel room you have 1 square meter to move around in. To your right you find the bathroom where you will bang your head into a shelf if you lean forward when sitting on the toilet, and when brushing your teeth you will have to stand outside the bathroom to lean down to the sink. The towel heater will not work and when showering the whole bathroom floor will get wet. On two sides of the bed you have no more than 50 cm to move around in, and this is also the space where you will have to keep your luggage... The bed itself was a spiral spring bed with spirals digging into our bodies. And let’s not forget the quilt! Instead of filling the double sized quilt cover with a double sized quilt, there was a single sized quilt stuffed in there horizontally and then a rug to keep our feet warm! Whenever some other guests are entering or leaving their rooms you will hear the doors slamming like it was your own door! The breakfast consisted of coffe/hot chocolate/tea, juice, milk, cornflakes, toast, butter, jam and croissants. Boulevard did not offer an option to buy English breakfast or any other form of hot meal. The room we got was located in the basement with no other view than a small area of concrete walls. We had no idea what kind of weather it was outside until we actually got out! The only positive thing about Boulevard was that there was always hot water in the shower, but then again, the pressure of the water kept fluctuating… This is not a hotel we would recommend to any of our friends or relatives, there are far better hotels, for the same amount of money, in London.

wow, this place was MUCH better than the website shows and reviews allude to. the meager photo provided of the one bedroom online is outdated and totally incorrect. my room was super modern and have a beautiful Swedish design feel with light wood, shiny metal fixtures, all amenities in miniature. YES, it is small, but I've stayed in smaller in Rome, Americans get over your concept of space, this is a European city centuries old. it's naive of the one reviewer to be so upset about that; he's clearly not a well traveled person to lands with ancient histories. London IS very expensive, and this place is priced well for it. we can thank Bush for grossly sinking the value of the US dollar. I had a cute view on the upper floor of London rooftops and a flower box. small, but comfy and cozy, and a terrific location. this site DOES need to correct it's map though. there are 2 exits from the underground, and the one you're more likely to use since it's bigger and has Heathrow express ticketing, is on the OPPOSITE side of the street, making the entire map backwards; deadly when trying to find this place. I walked in the opposite direction, and with so many hotels there and Norfolk plc's st's and way's, even locals weren't sure where it was. but Londoner's were super willing to help, and I managed after 40 minutes (it's only about an 8 minute walk if you don't get lost). summary, I was here to overnight from Gatwick to Heathrow, and I'd easily stay here again for a short stay! a longer one, or with another person, maybe I'd try finding a slightly bigger place if the price was right.

I did rely on the rating at venere which states over 7 points from 10. The room was actually the size of the bed and a few centimeters more. If one had to go to the toilet, the other one had to climb up the bed. The tiles on the floor in the bathroom were broken and I had to put a towel down not to cut my leg. The noise in the first night was terrible so that I was unable to sleep. Anyway the staff was friendly enough to give us a room in the basement the next day. That was without any problems. This room was the same size but much more quiet. Cleanliness: A few more strikes with the dust feather would have been helpful. Location is good - Paddington Station is really only a few minutes away and the bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is toast with butter and jam. The next time in London I really would spend more money to get a better hotel.

The pictures of these rooms do not adequately portray how miniscule they are!! I stayed with a friend and there was barely enough room for us to lay our suitcases side by side at the foot of the bed. In order to get from the bathroom to the suitcases, one person would have to sit on the bed to allow the other person by! The bathroom was also very small, but clean. The only great part of the room was the flat screen TV w/ satellite channels. :) The breakfast was simple, as was expected from a London B&B - coffee, OJ, cereal and toast with butter & jam. The location was very convenient to the Paddington underground and train station to the airport. We arrived unexpectedly late at night and had to take one of the night buses to Paddington - not very convenient, but much cheaper than a cab. The man at the front desk was kind enough to wait up for us to arrive and let us in close to 2 am. Overall a good value considering other, pricier options in London, but much too small if you're traveling with lots of luggage!

the room we stayed is very modern with everything you need in an 8'x8' room. You only have about 1 foot of walking space around the double bed and the bathroom is so small. If you're sitting on the toilet, you can't even lean forward as you will hit the sink that's about 12 inches by 5 inches. The shower is very claustrophobic, you can't breath. Don't drop the soap!!! Nothing around it that is decent enought to eat nor the attractions, you have to walk a good ways away. The only reason we booked this hotel was it was close to the Paddington station, cheap and the fact that we only stayed in the hotel to sleep. I'd look around for other hotels if we do come back.

As other comments have indicated, very small rooms, but a visitor to London should be spending almost no waking hours in the room. And breakfast didn't amount to much.

Close to Paddington Station, with good transport possibilities to wherever you want to go in London, the hotel proved to be worth very much its price. With plenty of restaurants nearby and also Bayswater and Edgware Road within walking distance, no need to go looking for a good meal elsewhere either. We chose a 'small double', which still had enough space to move around a bit (the bathroom however was really tiny). As we had a room in the basement, there was some noise of other people coming in or having breakfast (for those who want to sleep longer), but it didn't keep us out of our sleep. Would certainly come back for our next stay in London !

My third time at the Hotel Boulevard. Once again a very pleasant stay. Personnel very nice and helpful, room tiny but tidy, location OK. A perfect base for seeing London. Rooms are small, but tidy, modern and comfy. Breakfast is a basic hotel breakfast with toast and cereals, juice and tea. The price/quality ratio is excellent. The hotel suits those who seek a comfortable and affordable base for exploring London. The hotel has very good transport links. 2 tube stations very close and at least 2 bus lines stop right opposite the hotel entrance. One of these bus lines, number 23 is very useful for those arriving from Stansted airport by Stansted Express train, as the line 23 runs directly from Liverpool St station 24 h/day.

The rooms are small and I mean VERY small. The window was broken and that caused the traffic to keep us awake all night. We reported it and they said they will fix it or move us, After numerous enquiries, this never happened. We fixed the window with coat hangers. There are NO cuboard space, a kettle but NO cups. The breakfast consisted of toast and coffee, THAT IS ALL. I WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!

The location is excellent, the rooms are clean and very, very small. A good option just to sleep in a central location. The most important if you want to stay there is to choose a room to the back - we changed from the street to the back and that was the difference between a very noisy (I mean VERY NOISY) room and a very quiet one. We paid more 5£ (!) for a little bigger and more silent bedroom. Good option for London.

Our stay here for three nights in early September was just okay. Its location near Paddington Station is very convenient for public transport. Our large double was comfortable for us, although the bathroom was extremely tiny. You literally have more room to move about in an airplane bathroom. The room had satellite tv and air conditioning, which was great. We were on the top floor (room 309) and it was very quiet. Breakfast was nothing special (just coffee, OJ, cornflakes and toast with jam and butter). The only complaint I have is that the cleaning staff didn't clean our room after our second night. They straightened out our bedsheets (to look like the bed was made) but underneath the sheets were still crumpled. And the bathroom didn't get cleaned either. I don't think we'd stay here again. I'd stay somewhere closer to Victoria Station (easier to walk to see the sights we are interested in instead of spending 20 minutes back and forth on the Tube).

The small double is indeed small but the bathrooms are smaller...If you are a big man, think twice... Anyway it is a great budget location in Central London.

This hotel is perfect for a short stay in London. For a longer stay (more than one week), the room might be too small. This hotel is almost cheap for this city and it is well situated near Paddington station and several bus stops. The size of the room by itself was correct but the bathroom was wery small.

To be honest, the staff is not very welcoming. The cleanliness of room is ok, but the facilities are quite worn out. However, the location is excellent, and lots of cheap Latin shops are in the neighborhood. I might stay in this hotel in the future.

We had booked a "small double", but had not imagined, how small it could be, -not much more than a bed in the room. But it was clean and okay. For one or two nights okay. We changed to a bigger room, that was better, but very loud from the people above. The people in the hotel were very friendly, the breakfast was okay (toast and cornflakes), the surroundings also (many restaurants, near hidepark...)

This was a nice, clean room, but very small!! Luckily, so was our luggage! The bathroom and shower are extremely small. My husband is 6'0'' and about 260 and barely fit in the shower! But, the hotel was sufficient since we were only there to sleep. One of the many good points to this hotel is that you can turn on/off the air conditioning yourself. We would probably stay here again because the staff was so helpful and it is so close to Paddington station. If you stay here, be sure to eat at Mickey's Fish and Chips. It was excellent!!!

this hotel is clean and good value for the money but if you have heavy bags you may want to stay somewhere else. My room was on the 3rd floor, no elevator and very steep steps. They were not able to change my room so I left my bags at reception. It was ok for one night but I would not have stayed longer with my bags. Otherwise the room was lovely and breakfast was great and its so close to the station even with my bags. I would stay again only if I had a weekend bag with me.

A great hotel in London, as usual getting a quality, clean establishment at a reasonable price means you get 'cosey' rooms. However this was the only negative point of my stay; if I needed to stay in the same area again I would consider the Boulevard again.

Room is just slightly bigger than a double bed, maybe add 1-2 feet on the bottom and side of the bed for walking space. Was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the sheets and towels, plus the availability of a kettle. Hairdryer is outside of the toilet, wardrobe is very small so if you're expecting to be able to wash and dry clothes, maybe only 1 or 2 pieces. There's a shelf on top of the bed, so watch your head when waking up, TV is a flatscreen, many channels available. Toilet is about the size of the lavatory in an aircraft, add a shower space to that with a door. Sink is VERY small, can't even wash my face without getting the floor wet. Toilet has a heater Breakfast is coffee/tea, orange juice, 8 slices of toast with jam/butter, a bowl of corn flakes Area is nice, it's not too far from paddington tube station which is on the circle/district line. Right opposite is Micky's Fish and Chips, which has good Fish for low prices, and grocery stores. Magazine stores, Burger King, KFC (open till 2am), Macdonald's and Subway are within 50m of the hotel, St Mary's Hospital is right at your doorstep. Bus stop right outside the hotel takes you to centre of town as well. For this price, this is definitely value for money. Not to mention there's a Hilton like a block down, and you're paying maybe 1/3 the price or less for almost the same location. Staff is friendly, eastern european; they allowed us to leave our baggage in the hotel on the day we checked out, and we could collect almost anytime. 24 hour reception, plus the security's good, they have a CCTV camera looking at the door. Try it out if you're not a stickler for room space

I stayed in the basement so I can talk only about this kind of room. The room is small like a nut, the smell coming from the window was unacceptable, the room is not very quite, no additionan pillows, if you bring with you more than one pair of shoes you have no space to put it in. After the bad news there are two good ones. First the breakfast is good (continental and not english), second the surrounding areas are plenty of good restaurants and the hotel is very near to bus stop and tube station (circle line).

location is good (Paddington in 5 min. walk.) Our room was not as tiny as expected, but especially the washrooms are very, very small (but clean) Breakfast is very limited (Coffea, cerials, orange-juice.) That's it. No eggs, sausage etc. Communication by email with the hotel management works very well. Many food-shops and restaurants (incls. Burger King and Mc. Donalds araounf the corner) We would book this hotel again due to good location near to Paddington.

This was a really great location because the tube was just around the corner. The value was good if the room on the small side but that's what we have come to expect for the resonable price. We had no problem with the room size, ourselves. It was all clean and we felt very comfortable in the neighborhood.
