This Georgian Terraced Hotel oozes warm Scottish Hospitality and offers the perfect location when visiting Glasgow.

Situated only half a mile west of the city centre (just off the M8) on Sauchiehall Street, the Argyll Guest House is within minutes walk of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre with Glasgow Art Galleries and Museum, Glasgow University, Museum of Transport and The Kelvin Hall International Sports Arena which provides the perfect venue for indoor pursuits, all on our doorstep.

For the Mackintosh enthusiast The Glasgow School of Art, Hunterian Museum, The Willow Tearooms and Miackintosh Headquarters are all in the surrounding area.
A 5 minute walk will take you to the popular Byres Road area with its lively Bars, Bistros and Shops. Kelvingrove Parkoffers picturesque walks, tennis, bowling and riverbank paths for the keen jogger.

Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

Hotel information

Be it business or pleasure, this small, friendly Guest House offers excellent accommodation at affordable rates. Each of the 20 bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the added convenience of Television, Clock Radio, Hairdryer, DirectDial Telephone and Beverage Tray. Dry Cleaning and Laundry services are available for guests always on the move. All our rooms are non-smoking.

Rates are room only, however a Full Scottish Buffet Breakfast is available at our sister hotel - the Argyll Hotel - located directly across the road, at GBP 8.50 per breakfast.

Check-in/Reception is also located at the Argyll Hotel.

Being a small private hotel we feel that we have created a happy, homely atmosphere with a number of helpful staff who hope to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We look forward to welcoming you to the Argyll Guest House on your next visit to Glasgow.

Room information

The guest house has 20 en suite bedrooms offering a choice of single, twin, double or family room accommodation. All rooms are non-smoking. Each bedroom offers its own charm and individuality.

Important information

Check-in is at our sister property the Argyll Hotel located directly across the road. Check-in is after 14:00 (If you arrive earlier we would be happy to hold your luggage).

Check-out is by 11:00. If you are not leaving the city until later we are happy to hold your luggage.

many! the room in underground is very smelly, not fresh inside! If I opened the window, it is noisy. If I close the window, it is smelly, and felt sore in my throat. In addition, the wireless signal is to weak to use. Breakfast is not worth that value!

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant served good food. Good location for access to town, the west end and the Convention Centre if you enjoy walking. Good bus service to town and the airport. A variety of restaurants in the area.

Three items about our room in what was the Angus Hotel: 1 - Shower in our room was not functional - very low pressure/flow. 2 - Locks on the room door were not secure. No deadbolt - attendant walked in. 3 - Decor of our room was old and carpets worn giving the appearance of being not clean. Would not suggest staying in this section of the hotel.

the only complaint I had about the hotel was that I had difficulties opening the front door with the key provided and was not always able to open it

Yes the staff,all four of them smoking at door we needed to get
into,guest house,ever worse the door lock was sticking,had to use there

This is my 3rd stay here -- It's a very nice hotel with a good staff and in a great location, all at a good price.

Internet access at the Guest House needs some work... Not a big problem.

Room was fine overall for the price paid.

Very odd layout to room - had to go down some stairs to go back up some stairs. Toilet needed maintenance. Fair walking distance into town from hotel. Would be useful if there was a bus timetable.
