QUINTA DO MONTE

An intimate hotel occupying a Madeiran manor house and set in extensive tropical gardens, the Quinta do Monte is located in the heart of Monte village on the outskirts of Funchal. The 48 air conditioned guestrooms are traditionally decorated and feature original antique furniture. All have balconies overlooking the gardens, and offer satellite television, direct dial telephones, dial up Internet connections, minibars and bathrooms with bathrobes and slippers. Alternatively, guests may wish to simply stroll through the 5000 square metres of tropical gardens. There is a free shuttle bus service between the hotel and central Funchal, seven kilometres away, which can also be reached by the cable car, 100 metres from the hotel. Monte village centre is within 500 metres of the hotel. The nearest golf course is within five kilometres. Madeira airport is 30 kilometres and about a 20 minute drive away.
