Fully renovated in 2003, this stylish and colourful hotel is ideally situated in the centre of Paris, in a quiet street close to restaurants, business areas and transport connections.

Excellent rooms in a great location, the hotel smells of chocolate, very clean with nice size rooms and a great bath.

Very mediocre staff (only night staff-day staff quite helpful) would not even make us a drink despite the bar being open.

Minimal, tasteful and nicely located.

Housekeeping was below average. Stayed in a suite which was only partially cleaned every day and emptied bath products were not replaced even after complaining to the receptionist (although we were asured it was taken care of). Signs of wear and tear starting to show.

Front of house staff were helpful polite and available. A cot was made available for our child without asking .

Far too expensive. The room was next to the lift and noisy. We were not told that the (limited) breakfast was extra.

It was wireless and it was convenient to the metro. The lobby was attractive and the room was small but reasonably clean with a very nice bathroom.

There was a broken mirror on the wardrobe door and glass splinters kept falling on the floor. I reported this immediately but nothing happened despite my concerns and the hotels promise to fix it. The room was extremely small and next to an exit door which was constantly slammed.

Very good location. Friendly stuff. Pretty interiors. Nice room with balcony (good view). Clean. Very good bathroom. Working facilities. Working WiFi (unlimited). Good breakfast. Suggestion - little fridge in room.

The ducks in the bathroom, the bar, the very nice clean bathroom and gym. Helpful staff. French lavender outside the front door. Lovely flowers in the common areas. Great breakfast. Liked the whole design. Especially liked the bowls of sweeties in the bar.

It turns out the General Hotel was overbooked, so they rebooked me into another hotel, member of the same chain, Le Quartier Bastille. The room was (for Paris and this price point) spacious and clean, the amenities fine. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Overall my experience was very good.

The staff seemed a bit unfriendly when it became evident that I couln't speek French.
