Hvezda & Skalnik Hotel Marianske Lazne

The hotel was built by Knight Ferdinand Kriegelstein von Sternfeld, a member of the magisterial aristocracy in the town of Cheb. The family owned the house till 1862. Then, in 1904 - 1905, A.Weiss, its later owner, had it rebuilt to its present appearance, which was designed by Arnold Haymann, a Viennese architect. In this place, Josef Dobrovsky, a Czech historian and philologist, met J. W. Goethe during his stay in 1823. Guests at the Hvezda - Skalnik Spa Hotel are offered a combination of traditional spa style and international hotel comfort. The two hotels, Hvezda and Skalnik, were interconnected during an extensive reconstruction and now the complex is one of the most up-to-date facilities in Marianske Lazne.
